Art of Seeing

Photography has become a major part of my creative expression, and has been influenced greatly by Freeman Patterson and Andre Gallant, two professional photographers from New Brunswick. Using the principles of visual design, I compose my images to bring a variety of elements that result in my interpretation of what I see through my camera lens and is what I refer to as the “Art of Seeing”.

Photography is both a craft and an art. Cameras are often referred to as computer with a lens.  Camera fluency is the craft.  The art of photography is enabled as the fluency (knowledge and understanding of  the camera technical aspects) of the camera improves.  As fluency improves, I am freer to be more artistic.  Intentional camera movement, macro photography, high key, minimalism, multiple exposures, montages and intimate landscapes are several photographic techniques I tend to gravitate towards.

The following images are an introduction to who I am photographically and what interests me.
