In October 2021, I attended a week long workshop given by Freeman Patterson and Andre Gallant in St Martin’s, in southern New Brunswick. Using their inspirational photographs, Freeman and Andre were able to teach and illustrate the building blocks of visual design, abstraction and various photographic techniques which result in emotive and extraordinary images. The photographs that follow were made by me using a variety of techniques including wide angle, intentional camera movement, multiple exposure and minimalist compositions.
